About Us

L'Academie de Danse was established in Takapuna in 1992 by Sarah Boocock. Now in its seventeenth year of operation, In 2008 the school was taken over by Ashleigh Habgood, an experienced teacher and choreographer who is completely at home at L'Academie de Danse - having trained, danced and taught there for many years.

With a new director in place and a fantastic staff of 15 team members who are all enthusiastic and well trained, students will experience new and exciting changes and further developments that will continue the growth of L'Academie de Danse.

Philosophy

A strong focus at L'Academie de Danse is our philosophy that dance is a powerful tool through which children, teenagers and adults can improve their self confidence, self expression and self awareness alongside their dance technique and performance skills. We also believe in maximising the use of the dance class format to encourage positive social interaction and a feeling of support and empowerment for the students.

We, at L'Academie de danse, have clear goals that are encompassed and communicated in the L'Academie de Danse Philosophy. We feel that this vision sets us apart from other dance schools and adds more value to our classes. We work hard to bring this vision to light to ensure that the students and parents will benefit from our philosophy every day.

The Team

Our team of dedicated and friendly staff are what makes L'Academie de Danse the fantastic place it is. With a General Manager and an Administration Manager in place we can ensure the smooth running of the school while our team of dedicated and talented dance teachers provide consistently fun, supportive and educational dance tuition that caters to the needs of the students. With a hands-on director, you can rely on the fact that L'Academie de Danse will continue to grow and adapt to the needs and wants of the students, and that any problems will be dealt with quickly and effectively.
